This class has been an overall wonderful learning experience not only with the work but with my time management. Some of the things that we done required us to really comprehend the directions and figure out what needed to be done. I like challenges but im also a fan of the easy stuff as well. I really had a great first session and this class was apart of that. Thank you Mr. Wilkes for everything.

The scratch project are interesting as well. This program allows you to do a lot of different things using different methods. I just started using it but i really like the various components that scratch uses. It is like a multimedia program to me. The scratch project are fun as well

Even though it was not done the work from week 2 was interesting to learn. The excel spreadsheet is a task that is not easily done. You must know how to correctly type equations accurately so that the formula works. Microsoft word is a program that i have been using for a while now and has been continuing to make changes over the years. The newest 2010 program for word has a lot of unique changes. Technology will continue to grow and get better

CS 1410-101

I feel like this is going to be a fun class that brings new adventures. I feel like we will learn how to use certain tools on the computer and make other skills that we may have better. I am ready to explore the different concepts of this course as well as increase my knowledge about it. This summer session should be interesting and full of new challenges that I am ready to conquer.

Advantages vs Disadvantages of Technology Some of the major advantages involve how all the new technologies make everything else around us so easy and accessible. We have so many different programs and updates to the technologies that we have now and this is where some problems can occur. Its nice to have a phone that lets you surf the web and send multimedia software but it is beginning to get out of hand. I seen a commercial that shows how a phone can open and close a garage door or even crank an automobile. All it takes is one little malfunction and things can go wrong. That would be a major disadvantage. I feel like the advancement of technology will only continue to grow and so will we but the question is does this make us more or less reliable on technology itself

1) P2P sharing- software that allows your PC or Mac to link with other computers and share both information and the contents of your hard drive. 2) Legality- this really affects P2P networks that are decentralised. P2P is legal altogether but another thing that stands in the way is anything that is copyright. 3) Ethics vs Moral- Ethics are based on moral principles but morals are founded on the foundament priciples of right of conduct rather than legalities. assignment 6- websites that suck

One website that really sucks is the Mrbottles.com. The name by itself is horrible. When i viewed this site i was exspecting something a little different but i was fooled. This site was informational but no one cares about it. The audience is only for people who collect bottles and actually keep up with them. This website gets a bad grade in my book

Assignent 5- Hacker

1) Information that is online containing a lot of my personal details is free to almost anyone. Facebook is an key example of this. So much information is distributed over facebook just from us as users posting it on there. This is information that doesn't take any kind of effort to obtain. All you have to do is simply add a person to your friends list and click away.

2) The type of information that is distributed contains full names, age, date of birth, location, job entitlement, hobbies and photos. A picture can display more information than you know. If you are wearing a shirt with your school name on it or your school is displayed in your background then this shows where you go to school at and other information.

3) Your full name labels exactly who you are and with this information a person can find out information about you by simply asking questions. Your address is your place of residence and this is also where your mail comes. If a person knows where you live they can go through your trash like described in the reading. A cell phone is a great device but if a person attains that number then they can call and get your voice patterns as well as find out information about where you may be located.

Assignment 4

One of the main advantages to posting an ad on Facebook is the fact that many people can pass it along as far as commenting on the ad or reposting it for other friends to see it. The article used the 2010 Nike commercial as a great example. They were able to double their Facebook fan from 1.6 million to 3.1 million and on Facebook that is great increase over one weekend. It also cost a lot less by putting ads on Facebook because others are sharing it instead of the company having to continue to show the same commercial over and over again. The total revenue received is another great advantage.

Some major disadvantages that users may encounter are the low click-through rates. If a person is not paying attention to the advertisement then it will not be clicked on therefore it will not be viewed by the users. Facebook also, in a way, forces the advertisement upon you and that is not generally a good way to advertise something. Users on Facebook are not looking to view ads. They are Facebook for communication with friends and other miscellaneous things. Advertisements are only good on Facebook it they are in commented on by other users so that they are able to be viewed by that user's friends.

Informational

I am a Junior at Appalachian State University. I am currently 20 years old. I am a menber of the track and field team. Track is something that i am very passionate because without it i would not be here and be the person i am today. I have lived the last 7 years without my mother and i continue to do everything i do for her.
